Who Are We?
we are real people encountering a real Jesus who can change a real world
REAL people
We aren't into being spiritual for the sake of being spiritual, or shamming some moral superiority over the rest of the world. We’re real people with real problems like everyone else, but if Jesus is real that changes everything: our home, our work, our community, our church, our world.
REAL Jesus
The only way there is real hope is if God really came into this world, really took up our cause, really died our death, and really rose again. We don't worship and serve Jesus because that is the Christian thing to do. We worship Jesus because He is the best thing that ever happened to this world, and He is the best that ever happened to us.
REAL world
Jesus looked out at the crowds and was moved with compassion for them because they were harassed, weary, and scattered like sheep without a shepherd. This is the real world: we get beaten up, abused, taken advantage of, and lose our way. So we aren't looking at the world or ourselves through rose colored glasses. It’s rough, and we are a mess, but we aren't despairing because we know Jesus is greater. We are nothing more than messy people clinging to an awesome and perfect Savior. As a result, we aren't looking for clean and tidy people (haven't met any yet); we expect to find people with problems who have made lots of mistakes, so that we can together worship and serve the one who forgives our mistakes and changes our lives.
